Wereldwijd is er meer wetenschappelijke informatie beschikbaar dan ooit. Omdat de collectie van de Universiteitsbibliotheek Utrecht slechts een klein deel omvat van alle informatie die relevant kan zijn voor\u00a0jullie, vinden jullie\u00a0de Utrechtse collectie, samen met die van duizenden andere bibliotheken wereldwijd, voortaan in\u00a0WorldCat<\/a>. E\u00e9n catalogus waarin\u00a0je\u00a0zoekt naar mondiaal beschikbare wetenschappelijke bronnen, maar waarin een zoekopdracht ook toegespitst kan worden tot het Nederlandse bibliotheekbezit of de collectie van de Universiteitsbibliotheek Utrecht.<\/p>\n De bibliotheek sluit hiermee aan op de trend dat de zoektocht naar literatuur steeds vaker start in systemen die wereldwijd zoeken.<\/p>\n De keuze om haar collectie in de wereldwijde catalogus WorldCat te ontsluiten, betekent ook het einde van de eigen lokale catalogus van de Universiteitsbibliotheek Utrecht.\u00a0Jullie zijn\u00a0wellicht gewend aan de catalogus van de Universiteitsbibliotheek Utrecht. Om de overgang te versoepelen, blijft de collectie tot augustus 2018 via de lokale catalogus beschikbaar en kunnen jullie\u00a0tot die tijd hierin zoeken.
