Would you like to contribute to an international conference for 3.5 days, help people find their way around, provide technical support, assist during excursions, and be part of a great team? From November 3 to 7, the 10th EMES International Research Conference will be held in Rotterdam and Utrecht. We are looking for 8 (student) assistants to form the on-site support team for these days.
About the conference
The biennial EMES International Research Conference focuses on social enterprises, social entrepreneurship, the social and solidarity economy, and social innovation. The theme of the 10th edition is Scaling Through Communities: The role of Social Entrepreneurs and Social Enterprises in Boosting Societal Transitions. Scientists from all over the world will be attending. On Tuesday, people from the field will also be joining us. The conference will start on the campus in Rotterdam. On Wednesday, there are excursions to social enterprises. After that, the conference will continue in the city centre of Utrecht.
What will you be doing?
Setting up and dismantling the information desk and lecture rooms
Welcoming participants
Showing people around, answering questions
Solving any problems that arise
Providing technical support and time-keeping at presentations
Assisting with the excursions
Access control at the welcome reception and conference dinner
What we ask
Good knowledge of the English language
Service-oriented attitude
Willingness to work in Rotterdam and Utrecht
Available from Monday afternoon 3 November – Thursday 6 November; or from Tuesday 4 November – Friday morning 7 November
Knowledge of Campus Woudestein or the Drift/UBB area is an advantage
What we offer

Salary in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities.
Depending on the number of years of study, €17.73 to €18.07 gross per hour (CAO-UN,
scale SA)
Travel allowance if your public transport pass is not valid during weekdays
