So great that you will be studying Musicology in Utrecht! Are you curious about who your fellow first year students will be and do you want to get to know new people before studying really starts? Then sign up for our introduction week!
Van maandag 25 augustus tot en met vrijdag 29 augustus 2025 organiseert de introductiecommissie van Hucbald een introductieweek voor de aankomende eerstejaars. In deze week wordt een episch kamp gehouden met verschillende superleuke activiteiten (die we voor nu nog even geheim houden) waarbij je je medestudenten leert kennen, Utrecht gaat ontdekken en natuurlijk je muziekkennis op de proef gesteld zal worden! Het kamp zal grotendeels plaatsvinden in scoutinggebouw Alphen aan den Rijn en we beloven dat dit een onvergetelijke week zal worden.
De aanmelddeadline is maandag 18 augustus. Meedoen aan de introductieweek is uiteraard niet verplicht. De kosten voor het kamp (inclusief eten, verblijf en activiteiten) liggen waarschijnlijk rond €47,50. Er is plek voor 25, en vol = vol, dus meld je z.s.m. aan!
Het is wel belangrijk om te vermelden dat het introductiekamp door Hucbald wordt georganiseerd, en je dus automatisch lid wordt van Hucbald voor jaar 2025-2026. Dit bedraagt €20, wat betekent dat het totaalbedrag van deelname aan het introductiekamp op €67,50 uitkomt.

'Is the intro camp of Study Association Hucbald a kind of hazing?'
Nee! De introductiecommissie doet er juist alles aan om iedereen zich op hun gemak te laten voelen door middel van leuke activiteiten, veel tijd om je studiegenoten te leren kennen en veel muziek. Het motto van het introkamp is “niks moet, alles mag” en je bent zeker niet verplicht om aan alle activiteiten mee te doen. Wij zijn er om jullie een fijne en gezellige week te bezorgen!
'I can't attend the entire introduction camp due to holidays/obligations, what now?'
No problem. In this case, you can email the introduction committee to see whether you can still attend some of the activities. In addition, a lot of (first-year) activities are organized by Study Association Hucbald in your first year.
'I am much older than the standard first-year, is this camp for me?'
Basically, the target group for the intro camp is between 17 and 23 years old. Of course it is no problem if you are a little older than this. However, if the age difference is very large, the intro camp may not be entirely suitable, as the activities are aimed at young adults. If you have any questions about this, you can always email us.
