So great that you will be studying Musicology in Utrecht! Are you curious about who your fellow first year students will be and do you want to get to know new people before studying really starts? Then sign up for our introduction week!
Van From Monday August 26 to Thursday August 29, 2024 Hucbald's introduction committee organizes an introduction week for incoming first-year students. This week an epic camp will be held with various super fun activities (which we will keep secret for now) where you will get to know your fellow students, discover Utrecht and of course your music knowledge will be tested! The camp will largely take place in the Mondriaan scouting building in Amersfoort and we promise that this will be an unforgettable week.
The registration deadline is Monday, August 19. Participating in the introduction week is of course not mandatory. The costs for the camp (including food, accommodation and activities) are probably around €70.

FAQ
'Is the intro camp of Study Association Hucbald a kind of hazing?'
No! The introduction committee does everything it can to make everyone feel at ease through fun activities, lots of time to get to know your fellow students and lots of music. The motto of the intro camp is “nothing is mandatory, everything is allowed” and you are certainly not obliged to participate in all activities. We are here to give you a nice and enjoyable week!
'I can't attend the entire introduction camp due to holidays/obligations, what now?'
No problem. In this case, you can email the introduction committee to see whether you can still attend some of the activities. In addition, a lot of (first-year) activities are organized by Study Association Hucbald in your first year.
'I am much older than the standard first-year, is this camp for me?'
Basically, the target group for the intro camp is between 17 and 23 years old. Of course it is no problem if you are a little older than this. However, if the age difference is very large, the intro camp may not be entirely suitable, as the activities are aimed at young adults. If you have any questions about this, you can always email us.
